best national park in thailand?

we would like to know a really good national park in thailand thats not too far from Chiang Mai, phuket or bangkok. one with lots of wild life, like monkeys, elephant, tigers, pretty birds. just one thats really exciting where we’re bound to see something. also one with pretty waterfalls, kanchanburi looks nice, but are there better more exciting parks to visit

Does anyone know how suitable Thailand is as a destination for a family with a young child (2.5 years old)?

we are planning on going to Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan (Ao Chao Phao or thereabouts, not during a full moon) and Chiang Mai. Naturally we will be very careful but I’m starting to wonder how easy it is to avoid food poisoning etc.

About Thailand route from BKK up to North. ?

I will have a trip to Thailand next April or May. From BKK- Ayuthaya_Lopburi-Sukhothai-Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai. How many days should I stay in BKK ? And how about Chiang Mai? Is Lopburi worth visiting? Please advise me about this route. Should I take bus or train? On night or daytime ? As the scenery around from place to place maybe nice. Thanks so much!

Chianf Rai & Ko Phi Phi, Thailand – Backpacking?

Planning my places to visit in Thailand next summer & Chiang Rai might be on the cards.
So far I plan on visiting Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai; Kanchanaburi, Sukhothai & Koh Samui.

So, should i bother going to Chianf Rai then? What is there that I can’t do or see in any of the other stops in my tour? Any advice from someone who’s done this before?

Also what is the distance for Phuket to Ko Phi Phi; how do i get there on a budget (i.e. Normal boat, not speedboat) and how much & how long does it take? Also is it worth visiting from Phuket for the day or overnight???

Any help would be great.

Times not an issue yet, maybe later when I need to narrow places down. I’ll be travelling for a few months anyway, probaly four in & around SE Asia.

I’m in Thailand now, familiar mostly with Chiang Mai and BKK. What is LOW cost of living, with respect to lodging-like guest house in or out of the capital?

I want to train Khmer boxing, and will go between Thailand and Cambodia, and possibly Myanmar. I’ve found lodging in Thailand everywhere between 2 and 3k baht, 60-100$. What is the low end there in Cambodia?

I found a Yu Gi Oh (Yugio) Thai money note. What is it?

I was walking down the street today here in Chiang Mai Thailand, and spotted what looked like a 1000 Baht Thai bill. It would be worth around $30.00 US dollars, so I picked it up. However instead of a picture of the king on it there is a picture of a Yugioh character. Has anyone else ever seen one of these or tell me what it is? I doubt it’s worth anything, but I am curious. I’ll probably just give it to one of the Thai kids downstairs. Thanks for any and all responses.

What can I use to repel dogs quickly?

I am currently living in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I ride a bicycle around town, and from time to time I have trouble with street dogs chasing me. If you have been to Thailand then you know that dogs (also known as soi dogs) are a big problem. There is is bike shop here that I use frequently. The owner showed me a device called a “Dazzler” which apparently repels dogs momentarily with a high frequency noise. He got the device from his brother, who brought it to him from the US. I have Googled the word Dazzler but can’t come up with anything like this device.
Do you know a web address for this product? Or perhaps the name and web address of a similar product.

Although I am open to other ways to deal with this problem, please don’t suggest that I use a bb gun or throw rocks, etc. None of that works when you’re on a bicycle.

I phone or blackberry?

hi I will soon be in Kuala Lumpur and am currently in Chiang Mai (Thailand) and I am British. Anyway I am thinking to buy a phone in KUL I have only ever had a mobile for emergencies and I wonder about these i phones and blackberries and such.
I would like one with a camera and an MP3 player that possibly has the internet. Can anyone tell me about these things?
I also don’t wanna be on some ridiculous tarrif when I go home and prefer pay as you go for phone usage, as I hardly ever use them.
I also need an unlocked phone, but I got one easily in Thailand so I assume locked phones are a stupid British thing.
please help with any advice on these phones.

Where and What should I see in Southeast Asia?

I’m definitely planning on spending 8 weeks in Thailand, and then I want to spend four weeks each in Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. However, I could only pick 2 out of the 3 countries (Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam) and I’m having trouble choosing.
Which two should I choose and why? What are some “must-see” places in these countries?
Also, I read that Laos is within bus-distance from Chiang Mai, Thailand, so maybe I could just spend a weekend trip there while I am in Thailand?
Are these countries safe for an 18 year old girl to travel?
